New PC... Soon, Bring on the Games

I should be receiving a new PC this weekend. one, that quite frankly, poops on my current one. And that means...

Yep actually being able to play top quality games!!

Games like, Duke Nukem Forever & Dungeon Siege 3... Ah hell, who am I kidding.. I'll still play Minecraft & Terraria on it.

The quality of some of the recently released games this year has been shocking..

Duke Nukem Forever, a game 12 years in development, had so much hype, and delivered so little entertainment.

I paid out £74.99 for the balls of steel edition (it come's with a neat little Duke head bust), this  game would of been mildly acceptable 12 years ago.

Duke Nukem was a bad ass, a one man walking tank, weapons hidden in every pocket, snappy one-liners just jumping to emerge. 2011's Duke is a shallow shell of his former self.. 2 weapon carry limit, recharging shield.. Sorry ego.. Corridors cunningly disguised as open levels.

Dukes return has left a sour taste in many Nukem fans mouths

Dungeon Siege 3, obviously the third game in a moderately successful series, was another one I had high hopes for, I lost many hours to Dungeon Siege 1 & 2.

But what has been released is Dungeon Siege only in name..
To me Dungeon Siege was about taking your character and making him awesome, collecting "epic loot" along the way. Dungeon Siege 3 is about taking 1 of 4 pre made characters through a story.. A really bad story at that.

Essentially the entire game can be finished holding down the right mouse button and attacking with the left.

There is multiplayer, a co-op mode infact, don't get excited.. Your characters are limited to staying on the same screen, so no exploring unless you stay with player 1.

I'm holding out hope for Deus Ex: Human Revolution.. A small glimmer that Eidos & Square Enix won't screw this up..
