Tactixal Gamer: Hauppauge HD PVR Review

I have been using the Hauppauge HD PVR for a couple of weeks now, and i can honestly say its a damn handy piece of kit.

If your looking to start recording your Xbox 360/PS3 gameplay footage and sharing them online this is the device you will want to buy.

Very simple to setup,

Component cables from Xbox 360 into Hauppauge HD PVR
USB 2.0 lead from Hauppauge to your PC
Component cable out from Hauppauge to your HD TV.

Install the Software on the CD.

Done.

The Hauppauge only has component inputs/outputs, but due to the PS3's HDMI output acting like an anti piracy device and stopping the signal being recorded through the device, it is not a big loss.

If you are interesting in getting one of these, i would say to get an external 1TB hard drive, if you record as much as I do you will soon notice the files starting to eat away at the main Hard Drive.
