Improve The Way DS Games Look on 3DS

I decided to give Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars a bit of a break today, I’m still getting annoyed with getting to the end of a mission and failing due to the untimely death of one team member.

I decided to fire up Sim City DS, who can honestly say they don’t love a bit of Sim City now and then?.

My first thought after launching the game was “ah time to relax” followed very, very quickly by “this... doesn’t look right”.

After a little bit of digging around online I found that the 3DS stretches out the picture a little bit, not really that off-putting but it does make the games look a little... pixellated, after a bit more digging about I found a little fix for it.

After turning on your 3DS with your DS game inserted:

1. Press and hold the Select and Start buttons
2. With Select and Start held down, select the DS game icon to launch it
3. Keep both buttons held down until the game has loaded
4. When the game has loaded, release the buttons

Here's a before and after picture's for Sim City DS:

Obviously you can notice that after doing this your viewing area shrinks a little, maybe shrinks is the wrong word.. but the black borders around the screen certainly increase, but at least the images look normal and not stretched out.

Just thought I would share this little tip with you all, Useful?
